Collected: 10 Commandments Project and Who is Jesus? worksheet

Content: Students presented their 10 Commandments projects. We then looked at some Scripture passages and analyzed what Jesus was teaching.

Content: We began class with the prayer service for the preparation for All Saints' Day. When we returned to the classroom, students presented their 10 Commandments projects. We then looked at some Scripture passages and analyzed what Jesus was teaching. Block 8 also took some notes on chapter 4.

Content: We began in the chapel with the preparation prayer service for All Saints' Day. When we returned to the classroom, notes were given on chapter 4; we then looked at the scenarios on page 119 of the text and discussed them in relation to the notes. Students were asked to complete and turn in the 'Who is Jesus?' worksheet; if they did not finish, it is homework that will be collected at the start of class on Wednesday, October 31.

Content: We began by taking notes on chapter 4; we then looked at the scenarios on page 119 of the text and discussed them in relation to the notes. Students completed a worksheet titled "Who is Jesus?" and turned it in before the end of the class period. (If they did not complete it, it needs to be finished for homework for Tuesday, October 30.) NOTE: Block 8 did not get to the worksheet.

Content: Students were asked to read the explanations of the Beatitudes in the textbook on pages 110-112; they then individually completed a worksheet reflecting on what they read. Upon completion of the worksheet, students were placed in small groups to discuss the questions; we then discussed these same questions as a class. If time permitted, we did an examination of conscience/meditation using the Beatitudes.

Content: We finished the Joan of Arcadia episode begun on Friday, October 19, as well as the questions that went with the episode. Students then broke into small groups to discuss scenarios that broke the 10 Commandments (applying both the letter of the law and the spirit of the law). Also in small groups, students were asked to rewrite a commandment with positive wording while still keeping the spirit of the law.

Content: We began by reviewing the chapter 2 tests; these were then recollected. We began chapter 3, which is about the role of Law in our lives. Students were asked to complete a worksheet individually; they then moved into small groups and discussed their answers. They returned to the large group and we discussed these scenarios as a class. The last activity was to complete the box on page 80 of their textbooks, looking at valid reasons and rationalizations for not following the rules. After they completed this, we discussed it as a large group.
