We began chapter 6 today, the story of Samuel, Saul, David, & Solomon. Some notes were given on pages 120-123, the story of Samuel, as well as 1 Samuel 8:1-22, the reasons not to have a king over the Israelites. With a partner first and then as a large group, students discussed #2 on page 121 - how the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. We also had a large group discussion: #4 on page 122 - are issues of poverty, injustice, and corruption matters of politics or religion?
